NEW TOURNAMENT this year:

All three leagues (A, B, and BB) will have league champions, just like we’ve always done. This year, we will add a tournament for each of the league champs to compete for one city-wide champion, in honor of the late Jack O’Brien. This trophy is in addition to regular trophies, and will not take away from anything we’ve done in the past. Go to the schedules page for full details.

News for Men’s League:
IMPORTANT  IMPORTANT  IMPORTANT

We need ALL PLAYERS and bar owners to show up for the Awards Banquet, April 26th. It has been recommended that during this meeting we vote for League Officers for next season so preparations can be made in advance for League setup, etc.

Some things that need to be discussed and voted on are:

1. League Officers (I personally would like to run as League President/Secretary)

2. MANY people are interested in going to a POINTS system for league scoring, rather than straight WIN/LOSS records. The team W/L would be calculated using a “handicap” system that makes it much more even for all teams to compete (Mugs I, Barrel Inn, and Blue Room would have a more difficult time running away with the standings). All teams, including the last place teams would have a good chance of winning each week, regardless of the opponent. This is the format almost all other leagues across the country play under. This format would also qualify our league players to play at MN and WI state tourneys. Using a Handicap scoring system DOES NOT hurt the individual player’s standings in the “Top Shooters”; it only makes it more balanced for team standings. Further explanation of this format will be at the Banquet.

3. There has also been recommendations to open the league to women shooters also (especially if we go to a Handicap scoring system)...this would bring more players and teams into the league.
